The Prosecutor’s Office requests up to nine and a half years in prison for the landlord of an apartment located in the Alicante town of San Vicente accused of trying to kill two of his tenants with a gas explosion, according to the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community (TSJCV).
According to the same sources, the accused is facing two crimes of attempted murder and one of attacking an agent of the authority. The trial will be held next Wednesday June 1 in the tenth section of the Provincial Court of Alicante.
According to the brief from the Public Ministry, the events occurred on May 10, 2018 when the defendant, who had already had disagreements and confrontations with his tenants, put a butane cylinder at the door of the room of the two victims, who They had locked the inside for security.
Later, he released the gas and projected it under the door. According to the public prosecution, the man intended to cause an explosion but he did not succeed because the victim opened the window of the room and the room was ventilated.
After the events, the tenants called the Civil Guard, who took the accused into custody. The Prosecutor’s Office maintains that, during the transfer, the defendant maintained an aggressive, offensive, violent and provocative attitude towards the guards and even hit one of them in the chest.
