In the presence of close to 100 people, Mickael Dian, the artistic director of Espace culturel de Chaillol, presented the evening. A night under the sign of “woman”. The Zaide quartet, which was present at the church, consisted of four performers who are internationally recognized for their performances. Charlotte Maclet (Leslie Boulin–Raulet), Sarah Chenaf, and Juliette Salmona enjoyed the opportunity to play in a small space on a human scale in front of students from the Vallee de l’Avance schools, which is important for culture, particularly chamber music.
The program is called “Feminine Evening” because it was only composed by women composers. Ethel Smyth was an Englishwoman and feminist who started the evening with the quartet. After that, the evening was continued by a creation of Cecile Buchet and ended with Fanny Mendelsshon’s quartet. This was almost two hours of an unforgettable night.
The Cultural Space of Chaillol’s next meeting will be held on the Vallee de l’Avance territory on Sunday 26 June at 6 p.m. in La Batie-Neuve. There will also be Petit Mish – Mash, who will be performing klezmer music and gypsy music.
