The accused of killing his mother in July 2020 at the home they shared in the Leonese town of La Silva (Villagatón) has recognized this Monday the facts on the first day of the trial that is being held this week at the Provincial Court of León with a popular jury made up of four men and five women. J.M.C.A, 45, thus maintains the story that he showed from the moment of the crime, being himself the one who raised the alarm after confessing that he had ended the life of his mother.
The events date back to 1:00 p.m. on July 9, 2020, when J.M.C.A. attacked her mother, 70 years old, in the middle of an argument in which she tried to convince her to go live with him in Valladolid due to the continuous arguments she had with her husband.
Given her refusal to his request, he grabbed her tightly by the neck until he strangled her and then covered her mouth and nose with a soft object to cause her death by suffocation, according to the provisional qualifications document, reports Ical.
After that, J.M.C.A. He called the Civil Guard and asked them to come to his home because he had just strangled his mother. When the patrol was in person, they observed that there was a deceased woman, while his son was in another room, who repeated again that it had been him, for which he was arrested.
Once the agents received the call, they notified the 112 Emergency Center of Castilla y León, which notified the Emergencies Sanitarias – Sacyl, which sent a medical helicopter, a basic life support ambulance and Primary Care health personnel from the center of health of Bembibre. Already in the house, the Sacyl health personnel confirmed that the assaulted woman had died.
Due to these facts, the Public Prosecutor’s Office requests for J.M.C.A., who has been in provisional prison since July 2020, a sentence of 13 years in prison for a crime of homicide with the aggravating circumstance of kinship and the extenuating circumstance of confession.
