The A-5 or Extremadura motorway has been closed since six in the afternoon on Tuesday in the direction of Madrid as a result of a traffic accident that has occurred on the road, near the municipality of Los Cerralbos.
As reported by the Castilla-La Mancha Emergency Service 112 to ABC, a truck has overturned and has begun to burn, so the two lanes of the highway in the direction of Madrid are cut off. The trucker has escaped unharmed. The accident occurred at kilometer 92, and the Civil Guard is taking an alternative route through the CM-4002.
In addition to members of the Civil Traffic Guard, firefighters from the Provincial Fire Extinction and Rescue Consortium (Cpeis) based in Santa Olalla, forest firefighters and road maintenance personnel are involved in the emergency operation.
