Two drivers have died this morning in a head-on collision between a large-tonnage truck and a vehicle on the N-400 highway, at the height of the town of Aranjuez, a spokesman for the Community of Madrid 112 Emergencies has informed Europa Press.
The accident occurred at kilometer 30 of said two-way highway, which connects Aranjuez with Toledo. For reasons that are still unknown, both vehicles have collided head-on, leaving the passenger car destroyed, while the truck has fallen down an embankment about five meters high, leaving the cabin very affected.
As a result, both drivers and the only occupants of the two vehicles have died, as confirmed by the Summa 112 toilets who have approached the scene.
Five crews of Community Firefighters have also attended, whose professionals have removed the bodies from inside the vehicles with great difficulty, since they were very trapped.
The driver of the car was 41 years old and the driver of the truck, which was transporting pallets with plastic bovines, had turned 51. The Civil Guard, which has regulated traffic on said road, which has been partially affected during the work of the emergency teams , has taken charge of the investigation and causes of the incident.
