The Salamancan painter Jerónimo Prieto puts the image to a festival of San Juan de Sahagún in Salamanca that will last on June 10, 11 and 12 and will have a great central show in the Plaza Mayor with music, dance, circus, video , cold pyrotechnics and aerial skill, with “the city as a backdrop”, performed by the Belgian company Theater Tol, which will commemorate the opening and closing acts of the European Capital of Culture, on the 20th anniversary of the event.
The mayor of Salamanca, Carlos García Carbayo, has been in charge of presenting this Wednesday the advertising poster and the activities programmed completely free of charge so that everyone can enjoy the Festivities.
About the central act, the mayor assured that `Pedaleando al Cielo’ “is a proposal full of lyricism and poetry that talks about being together on dark days”, informs Ical.
The show has already been performed in front of more than a million people in several countries such as Spain, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Germany, Russia and France. The City Council has scheduled two functions, on June 11 and 12, in the Plaza Mayor, at 10:30 p.m.
The cultural activities will begin on Friday, June 10, at 7:00 p.m., with a Concert by the Municipal School of Music and Dance Band in the Patio Chico. At 8:30 p.m. the traditional Bonfire Concert will take place in the Elio Antonio de Nebrija park.
On Saturday the 11th, at 10:00 a.m., the charro folklore parade will begin through the neighborhoods of Salamanca, and at 11:00 a.m., at the Palacio de Congresos, the Ciudad de Salamanca Bolillos Encounter will take place. In the afternoon, at 6:00 p.m., the tour of the Heritage Batucadas will begin in the Plaza de los Bandos.
In a double function, at 6:00 p.m. and 7:30 p.m., the absolute premiere of Conversations with San Juan de Sahagún, by the Salamanca company Jes Martin’s and Miguelón, will be presented, while at Parque Elio Antonio de Nebrija, at 8:00 p.m. place a concert of the rock band from Salamanca Al limit.
