On June 26, the Abánades Trail is celebrated; the first mountain trail with a live historical re-enactment of the civil war. In the absence of a scarce month for the race, it already has more than 100 registered runners.

The town of Abánades, in Guadalajara, already has practically everything ready for its race of the year. The beacons, pagers, t-shirts and even costume clothes for your live civil war settings are ready.

Up to 250 participants are expected in this race set in the daily life of the civil war years. Nationals, Republicans and even nurses will meet the runners during its almost 20 kilometers of marked terrain.

This race will have two routes of different difficulties: one of 10 km, with a drop of 300 meters, and another of 19 kilometers, with a drop of 500 meters.

During both, you will pass through trails of big game animals, lavender fields, streams or old charcoal bins.

During the entire route there will be volunteers, a medical service and an ambulance at the service of the runners. In addition, there will be food and drinks throughout the route at different stops, courtesy of its sponsor, Monte Pinos Selección gourmet supermarkets.

Upon reaching the finish line, all participants will receive a medal. There will also be a first prize of a ‘La Hoguera’ Duroc ham for the long distance (male and female) and trophies for the first three of the ‘senior’, ‘veteran’ categories, in the mixed couples modality and in the short distance .
