The judge of the so-called Erial case has prosecuted the former minister of labor with the PP and former president of the Generalitat Valenciana Eduardo Zaplana, in which the alleged collection of more than 10 million euros in commissions derived from ITV concessions and wind farms is investigated of the Valencian Community.

This follows from the indictment, notified from the Investigating Court number 8 of Valencia this Thursday to the parties, a step prior to the oral trial.

Along with Zaplana, other investigators have been prosecuted, such as the one considered to be his alleged figurehead, Joaquín Barceló, as well as the former president of the Generalitat José Luis Olivas, and Vicente and José Cotino, among others. Likewise, he has decreed provisional dismissal of the case for Zaplana’s daughter and his wife, seeing no evidence of a crime.

The investigation began in 2015 in secret and did not explode until May 2018, when the Central Operative Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard arrested the former minister at his home in the center of Valencia. The operation and also the macro-cause received the name of ‘Erial’ due to the adjudications that were made on abandoned uncultivated land and, more metaphorically, due to the plundering of public resources allegedly practiced by those investigated.
