Yesterday, the III Castilla y León Tapas and Pinchos Championship crowned chef Ramiro Gutiérrez, from the Xirex bar in the town of Santa Marta de Tormes, with the prize for the best pincho in the Community thanks to his creation ‘Xeetox’, a stew of trompe l’oeil tripe with which he represents the typical ‘Cheetos’ for which he won a prize consisting of Makro products valued at 1,500 euros, a trophy and a diploma.

During the award reception, the winner, who was applauded by all the attendees and received the award from the mayor of Palencia, Mario Simón, and the president of the Spanish Tapa and Pintxo Academy, Mikel Martínez, confessed to being “very proud” that the Contest jury awarded his “fun and cheerful” proposal, as the organization of the award pointed out in a statement.

The second classified was José Antonio Guerrero, from the Gastrobar Sabores, located in Valladolid, who received 1,000 euros in products from the Oblanca Group from the director of Marketing, María Ruíz, and the commercial delegate, Francisco Barea, who were accompanied by the director of Tourism of the Junta de Castilla y León, Angel Gonzalez Pieras.

The third prize went to chef José Antonio León, from La Chistera de Soria, who received a trophy and diploma from Provincial Deputy Alfonso Polanco, as well as products valued at 500 euros from Embutidos de Cardeña.
