Iberdrola is the first Spanish company that allows you to follow its shareholders’ meeting that is held on Friday in the Metaverse, either immersively -with virtual reality glasses- or from any computer or mobile phone.
Attendees will be able to follow the retransmission of the meeting, access, move and interact with their personalized avatar together with the rest of the participants within the company’s own space in this new virtual environment, as well as view videos about the company and its activity.
In addition, all shareholders with the right to participate in the meeting will receive 0.005 euros gross per share in the event that said incentive is approved and payment is agreed upon, subject to the constitution quorum reaching 70% of the share capital and the approval of item 7 of the agenda.
If these conditions were met, the participation dividend would be paid to all shareholders entitled to participate in the meeting, unlike the old attendance premium that was only paid to those who participated in the meeting.
The group chaired by Ignacio Galán stresses that this year the company has strengthened its channels with its more than 600,000 shareholders and that the traditional Shareholders’ Day has evolved into Shareholders’ Week, which is presented for the first time this year as an immersive experience, in virtual format.
Likewise, within the innovations of this meeting, the shareholders will also be able to certify their participation by ‘blockchain’. Any shareholder who participates through the Iberdrola portal can verify that their electronic vote or their proxy has been correctly registered in the ‘blockchain’ network.
