A couple between 50 and 60 years old and Spanish nationality died this Friday drowned in the waters of Lloret de Mar (Girona), according to sources close to the case.
The Generalitat’s Civil Protection has removed two bodies from the water, a middle-aged man and a woman, who were floating in the Roca d’en Maig area of Lloret de Mar (Girona) this Friday.
The 112 emergency telephone number received the notice at 1:47 p.m. of the two bodies floating in the water, which have been located about 50 meters from the coast, Civil Protection reports in a statement.
The bodies have been transferred to Cala Canyelles and members of the Sistema d’Emergències Mèdiques (SEM) have certified the deaths of the two people.
The Civil Guard, as judicial police, has opened an investigation to determine the circumstances of the couple’s death. On all the beaches of the coastal town the yellow flag waved due to rough seas.
