The State Public Employment Service (SEPE) announced on June 30, 2022 the implementation of a new version of its website to apply for unemployment benefits in a much simpler way. The intention of this new model is to reduce the processing time when requesting this subsidy.

This is a new movement by the autonomous body attached to the Ministry of Employment and Social Security to try to digitize the process and simplify applications electronically. For this reason, the main intention has been to reduce the number of screens to be filled in by the user, also improving the notices of completion of the procedures to apply for unemployment.

In order to access this new unemployment benefit form, it will be necessary to first enter the Persons section of the SEPE. Once there, you will have to click on the link ‘Apply for your unemployment benefit or subsidy’ and obtain the form by clicking on ‘Access applications’.

It will be necessary to have the digital certificate or electronic DNI to be able to access all these processes. If you want to access through Cl@ve, you must have completed the advanced level registration of the system, either in person at an office or electronically through the “recognized electronic certificate”.

If you do not have any of these tools, you can fill out the pre-application form from the SEPE website or go in person to one of these offices.
