Of course I still remember what it was like to hold my daughter in my arms for the first time, tiny, with my eyes squeezed shut, my little hands clenched into fists. How she tried her first steps almost a year later, cheering enthusiastically and immediately screaming in frustration because her wobbly little legs couldn’t quite find her balance. How she spent her first overnight stay without mom and dad, started school, and lost a baby tooth.
And now this. My daughter, now 15, has her first boyfriend.
