A fire at the mountain station of a Swiss glacier cable car triggered a fire brigade operation at 3,000 meters above sea level.
As the police of the French-speaking canton of Vaud announced, the mountain restaurant Botta de Glacier 3000 and other parts of the building were on fire on Monday.
Since the mountain station at Les Diablerets could only be reached from the air, helicopters had to climb up to extinguish the fire. The emergency services were alerted early in the morning. Apparently there were no staff in the mountain station and there were no injuries, the police reported.
