In Thuringia, 65 schools bear the title “School without Racism – School with Courage”. According to the information, a new school has joined the network since the beginning of the year. Last year there were a total of eight new facilities. According to the state coordinator of the network in Thuringia, 27 high schools, twelve comprehensive schools, five vocational and community schools and 21 other institutions are part of the network.
In the facilities with the title “School without Racism – School with Courage”, students fight against all forms of discrimination with campaigns and projects. According to its own statements, it is the largest school network in Germany. More than 3,600 schools belong to it.
Before a facility can join the network, at least 70 percent of school members must agree to join and make a commitment. The self-commitment includes, among other things, that the school carries out sustainable projects and events to overcome discrimination, especially racism.
