The Golden October in Germany is taking a break for the time being. According to the German Weather Service (DWD) on Wednesday, it will be increasingly cloudy towards the weekend.

Accordingly, on Thursday, especially in the north-west half of the republic, dense clouds will gather, which will continue to spread on Friday. There are also occasional rain showers. “The start of the weekend is anything but golden. Preferably in the south, it’s time to put on a waterproof jacket and shoes on Saturday,” said a DWD meteorologist.

After all, it remains comparatively mild, the daily maximum temperatures vary between 14 and 20 degrees. It is warmest in the southwest of Germany. Even at night, the values hardly fall below 7 to 13 degrees because of the many clouds. For comparison: On Wednesday night, minus two degrees were measured with a clear sky in Eslohe in North Rhine-Westphalia and Gilserberg-Moischeid in North Hesse.

At the beginning of the coming week, the temperatures will continue to rise. “On Sunday there will be a few more rays of hope, and in the south the 20-degree mark will sometimes be significantly exceeded,” said the meteorologist in Offenbach.
