After moving from VfL Bochum to FSV Mainz, Maxim Leitsch immediately became a regular player for the 05ers. The young central defender was in Bo Svensson’s starting XI in both the first round of the cup and the first seven matchdays of the Bundesliga – after which he was absent due to a hamstring injury before he didn’t play again last weekend.
On Wednesday, FSV announced that Leitsch would be taking an indefinite break. The 24-year-old is suffering from “physical and mental exhaustion” and will only do light training for the time being.
