Marc-André ter Stegen from FC Barcelona has been voted the best player of the past season in the Spanish Primera División.
In addition to the Alfredo Di Stéfano Trophy, which is awarded by the sports newspaper “Marca”, the German national soccer goalkeeper also received the Zamora Award as the best goalkeeper. “It’s a proud moment to receive both the Zamora Trophy and the MVP for the 22/23 LaLiga season,” commented the 31-year-old on Service X, formerly Twitter. Teammate Robert Lewandowski was honored as the top goalscorer.
However, Ter Stegen will not be able to demonstrate his class in the league game this Saturday. The goalkeeper, who missed the last two international matches against Turkey (2:3) and in Austria (0:2) due to back problems, is not available for the game at Rayo Vallecano.
