According to a report by the “Rheinische Post” (Tuesday edition), Deutsche Post is calling on office workers to help in the upcoming Christmas business if possible in distribution centers and with deliveries. The newspaper reports this with reference to internal statements by the board member responsible for Germany, Nikola Hagleitner. According to the “Rheinische Post”, the company explained that the Post had long been appealing to colleagues from the offices to help out at the “beginning of heavy traffic”. But such assignments are always voluntary.
According to the newspaper, the Post also stated that the company “always has the experience” that “our administrative staff feel the need to support their colleagues in the company”.
According to the “Rheinische Post”, the group is also trying to recruit deliverers or employees in distribution centers abroad. The post office is looking for “additional employees on all channels and with high pressure,” the company said.
