In the murder trial of a man who is said to have stabbed his neighbors in Hamburg because of too much noise, only the indictment was initially read out on the first day of the trial. It was initially unclear whether the accused wanted to comment on the second day of the trial.
On Friday, among other things, policewomen should take a seat on the witness bench, as a spokeswoman for the public prosecutor’s office in Hamburg said. The man is charged with murder for base motives.
Anger must have grown over the years
According to the indictment, the 61-year-old man is said to have been angry at his 66-year-old neighbor in the residential home for the elderly in the Hamburg district of Fuhlsbüttel for several years. In his opinion, it should always have been too loud. In May 2022, he went to his apartment with a kitchen knife with a 16-centimetre-long blade with the intention of killing him. He entered and attacked him directly.
He stabbed his victim’s upper body at least twelve times. Vital organs and veins were hit. The 66-year-old bled to death and suffocated in his apartment.
The employee of a nursing service had alerted the police after finding the lifeless man. On the same evening, the accused turned himself in by admitting the crime at the Fuhlsbüttel prison. In addition, the German handed over the alleged murder weapon to the employees of the judiciary.
