Foggy in some regions, otherwise mostly sunny and mild – this is how the weather forecast for the weekend in Germany can be summarized. On Saturday, after the fog has cleared, it will be mostly sunny with maximum values between 11 and 18 degrees, as the German Weather Service (DWD) in Offenbach announced on Friday.
Meteorologists often expect fog or high fog all day long from Schleswig-Holstein to Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania as well as on the Upper Rhine and in the Lake Constance region along the Danube. In permanent fog, the maximum values are around six degrees, it said. In the night to Sunday there will be mostly no precipitation. The lows are between zero and five degrees. On the coast it will be milder with lows of up to nine degrees, in the southeast the temperatures can drop locally to minus one degree. In some areas, frost is to be expected near the ground.
Persistent fog or high fog is expected again on Sunday along the Danube, on Lake Constance and in the north-east. Otherwise it will be widely cloudy or sunny. The maximum temperatures are between 10 and 17 degrees. Usually weak to moderate wind blows, in the Bavarian Forest and in the Ore Mountains there can be gusts of strong to stormy winds. According to the DWD, denser clouds will gather in the southwest and west on Monday. In the morning, showery rain is expected from France. Otherwise, the weather forecast predicts clear and dry conditions with maximum values of 9 to 15 degrees.
