A Texas court has sentenced a 29-year-old woman to death. She had brutally murdered a pregnant friend and stolen her unborn baby.

The verdict and the background to the case emerge from the documents of the court in the small town of New Boston, east of Dallas.

In October 2020, the perpetrator killed her heavily pregnant friend in her house with more than a hundred stab wounds, cut open her stomach and removed the unborn child. The victim’s three-year-old daughter left her asleep in another room.

She was picked up in her car a few kilometers from the scene of the crime. She claimed that she gave birth to a child on the side of the road, but that she is no longer breathing. The woman and baby were taken to a hospital, where the fetus was pronounced dead.

For months, the now 29-year-old had told her boyfriend and relatives that she was pregnant. She reported on the online networks about her supposed pregnancy and bought a fake silicone belly. In truth, however, she could no longer have children after a hysterectomy.

According to investigators, she had started searching for pregnant women in stores and maternity wards a few weeks before the murder. Shortly before the act, she watched numerous videos about childbirth and caesarean sections.
