After the collapse of two buildings in the center of the northern French city of Lille, rescue workers have recovered a missing man dead from the ruins. The rescue operation ended at 4 a.m., the fire department said on Sunday.
There were no more missing. After the collapse of the two adjacent buildings on Saturday morning, a victim was rescued from the rubble after hours of use. The investigations initiated by the judiciary are intended to clarify, among other things, whether renovation work on one of the buildings caused the collapse.
