Sidi Sané celebrated his Bundesliga debut on Saturday evening. It was his second competitive appearance for Schalke 04. His brother Leroy, whom he missed on the pitch by just a few minutes, congratulated afterwards.

In the 66th minute, around 15 minutes after the goal to make it 2-0, Thomas Reis substituted Sidi Sané on. The 19-year-old was allowed to celebrate his debut in the Bundesliga on Saturday evening and play against FC Bayern for about half an hour.

But the brother duel was only passive. After all, Leroy Sané was taken off the field a few minutes earlier on the other side. The game was decided and Julian Nagelsmann seemed to want to take it easy on the national player for the upcoming World Cup. So there was no clash between the two brothers.

Nevertheless, Leroy then congratulated his brother on the league premiere. He posted on both Instagram and Twitter:

This makes Sidi the second Sané who has gone through numerous youth teams in the Knappenschmiede and is playing for Schalke in the Bundesliga.

However, it wasn’t his professional debut. In the first round of the DFB Cup, in the 5-0 win over Bremer SV, he had already played as a substitute. In the pre-season in the summer he was already there under Frank Kramer. It is quite possible that Reis will also keep an eye on the youngster during the upcoming break.

Maybe Sidi and Leroy will see each other on the pitch in the second leg.
