The national ice hockey team has won the Germany Cup for the ninth time. The selection of national coach Toni Söderholm also defeated the Olympic bronze medalist Slovakia 3-0 (1-0, 1-0, 1-0) in Krefeld.

At the end of the traditional four-nation tournament, Tim Wohlgemuth (7th minute), Tobias Eder (31st) and Tim Fleischer (60th) scored the goals for the young German team in front of an official 3854 spectators.

The team, which started with many perspective players, had previously also won against Denmark (3-2 after extra time) and Austria (3-0).
