At a St. Martin’s procession in Essen, the St. Martin’s actor rode through the district on Monday evening for lack of a horse as a pillion passenger on a heavy motorbike. The horse had become ill and a replacement could not be obtained at short notice, said a spokesman for the local advertising community. The advertising community relied on the motorcycle as a “replacement horse”.
Martin distributed lollipops to children from the seat of the motorcycle in the Heisingen district. There were no problems – the horse on wheels arrived safely.
