Strong business figures from Siemens and the resulting high price gains supported the Dax on Thursday. However, the leading index gave up most of its gains in the course of the morning. Around noon, the Dax was still up 0.24 percent at 14,268 points. On Tuesday, the Dax rose to its highest level in more than five months.

The MDax fell moderately on Thursday by 0.29 percent to 25,536 points. With regard to the European stock market environment, the EuroStoxx 50 was virtually stationary.

With an increase of more than seven percent, Siemens took the lead in the Dax by a wide margin. For the first time since March, the shares surpassed the 130 euro mark.

In the second row in the MDax, Thyssenkrupp fell by a good one percent. The shares of the insurer Talanx were among the biggest winners in the MDax with a premium of three percent. They benefited from a buy rating from Bank Oddo BHF. After the Rheinmetall share had risen sharply in the past few days, it lost 4.4 percent and was at the bottom of the MDax.

After the recent slump, Morphosys shares stabilized somewhat following the biopharmaceutical company’s earnings report. They rose by three percent.
