When two cars collided on federal highway 72 in Emstek (Cloppenburg district), five people were injured, three of them seriously. A 37-year-old wanted to turn his car left onto a freeway on Wednesday, the police said. He missed an oncoming vehicle. Both cars collided, the drivers were slightly injured. The 26-year-old passenger and two children in the oncoming vehicle suffered serious injuries. All were taken to hospitals. The area was temporarily closed while the accident was being recorded. This caused traffic delays.
