According to the investigators’ initial findings, a 60-year-old shot two relatives and then killed himself in Schorndorf, east of Stuttgart. A 57-year-old survived the act on Wednesday with life-threatening injuries. Any help came too late for a woman, as the police and prosecutors announced in the evening. It is believed to be a 48-year-old relative.
A spokesman could not say exactly what the relationship between the three Turks was. The motive also has yet to be determined. The forensic investigations and measures to secure evidence have not yet been completed.
At 11.34 a.m., according to the police, a seriously injured woman was reported to the rescue control center in an apartment building in Schorndorf. Two family members became aware of the crime and contacted a third party, who raised the alarm.
Large-scale operation with helicopters
The forces moved out with a large contingent. 28 patrol crews and a helicopter were deployed. Special forces forces searched the house. The officers discovered the two bodies in one of the apartments, the spokesman said.
Meanwhile, rumors of an exchange of fire circulated, which the police denied. That would mean at least two people shooting at each other, the spokesman said.
In the course of the investigation, there were suddenly indications of a building in Fellbach. There, the emergency services found the critically injured man. A rescue helicopter flew the 57-year-old to a hospital. He has not yet been able to be heard, said the police spokesman in the evening.
According to the investigators, there is currently no evidence that other people were involved in the crime.
Forensics in action
On Wednesday afternoon, forensic experts were at work in both locations. For example, you would have to secure tracks, the spokesman said. Specialists from the State Criminal Police Office supported the police.
This had cordoned off the house in Schorndorf extensively. It is in an area that is part industrial and part residential. Among other things, officials questioned possible witnesses in a gas station opposite and at a car dealership. In Fellbach, on the other hand, numerous officers stood in front of a building in a backyard.
Both cities are located to the east of the Baden-Württemberg state capital, Stuttgart. Schorndorf is a little further away.
