KITAKYUSHU — Rebeca andrade from Brazil won a world title for her Tokyo Olympic vault gold medal. She also won a silver medal for uneven bars at Saturday’s gymnastics world championships.

Asia D’Amato, from Italy, took silver with 14.083 point while Angelina Melnikova, Russia’s all-around champion was third with 13.966.
Andrade’s vault title, which is only the second gold for a Brazilian women, is also the first since Daiane Santos won the floor at the 2003 worlds.
Andrade finished second to China’s Wei Xiaoyuan at the uneven bars, adding a silver medal.
Andrade won the event with 14.633 points, becoming the first Brazilian to win a medal at the world championships.
Wei was awarded 14.733 points, while her compatriot Luo Rui earned the same score as Andrade, but lost the tiebreak and came in third.
Because of injury concerns, Andrade decided not to participate in Thursday’s all around event. Between 2015 and 2019, Andrade, 22, suffered ACL tears.
Olympics.com quoted Andrade as saying, “Many people didn’t believe in me when my injury occurred.” “Today, my goal is to show the world that anything is possible if one chases what they really want.” If you surround yourself with people who believe in your abilities, you can achieve it.
Stephen Nedoroscik, who scored 15.266 points, won the pommel horse gold in the United States. With 14.900 points, Weng Hao from China and Kaya Kazuma from Japan shared the silver.
Nedoroscik stated, “I’m kinda in shock now.” “I am so proud of everything I did. All the odds against me getting here were against it.” A gold medal was always something I hoped for. I have always believed in myself.”
Zhang Boheng, a Chinese gymnast who won the all-round gold medal for her performance, withdrew from Saturday’s apparatus finals along with silver medallist Daiki Hashimoto of Japan.
