Bayer Leverkusen is threatened with the loss of top talent Zidan Sertdemir. Several clubs are working on a transfer of the 17-year-old.

This is reported by the well-known transfer expert Fabrizio Romano. Accordingly, Sertdemir could already leave the Werkself in winter. However, Romano did not reveal which clubs are interested in the young Dane.

The teenager only switched from FC Nordsjaelland to Leverkusen in the summer of 2021 for 2.5 million euros and is considered one of the most promising talents in European football. For example, Kim Engstrom, coach of Nordsjaelland’s league rivals Odense, described the Denmark U19 international as “the best 16-year-old in Denmark”.

The central midfielder has made three brief appearances for the Werkself first team – all of them last season. In the current season Sertdemir does not play a role with the professionals. Instead, he’s a fixture in the Under-19s, scoring two goals in the UEFA Youth League, for example.

Ex-Bayer coach Gerardo Seoane had emphasized Sertdemir’s good positional play between the lines in the spring, but still found physical defects in the teenager. This is probably the main reason why the left foot has hardly been used in the first team so far.

Should the young Dane actually leave the Rhinelanders, he would be the second top talent after Iker Bravo to leave Leverkusen in a short space of time. The 17-year-old Spaniard left Bayer for Real Madrid in the summer. Los Blancos initially loaned the attacker out for a year, but secured a €10m purchase option.
