SC Freiburg has extended the contract with U21 national keeper Noah Atubolu. The 20-year-old goalkeeper has been between the posts for the sport club since he was 13 years old.

As usual, the current second in the Bundesliga table did not provide any information about the length of the contract. Atubolu has been part of the pro squad since this season and continues to get regular match practice in the 3rd division. The 1.90 meter tall goalkeeper has already completed 39 competitive games for the SC second team in league three. The four-time U21 international is still waiting for his debut in the Bundesliga.

Sports director Klemens Hartenbach praised the youngster when announcing the contract extension: “Since the extension at the beginning of last year, Noah has developed noticeably again. The current sporty model is clearly doing him good. Noah exudes presence and courage and masters all facets of a very good goalkeeping game. We look forward to continuing to work together.”

The 20-year-old is looking forward to more years in the SC jersey: “I come from Freiburg and it’s a big thing for me to take the next steps at the sports club. With the games in the 3rd division and the daily work I can continue to improve my goalkeeping skills with the pros. I’m looking forward to the next few years here at the club and with the lads.”
