VfL Bochum has secured the services of Keven Schlotterbeck until the end of the season. The defender leaves SC Freiburg because he hardly played a role under Christian Streich.

It’s a win-win-win decision: Bochum gets another central defender with experience in the league. Keven Schlotterbeck is moving to his club, where he will certainly get more time than in Freiburg. And Freiburg can reduce the squad a bit and give up a previously dissatisfied player in the meantime.

VfL made what was already apparent on Monday morning official: Schlotterbeck will play for the club threatened with relegation until the end of the season.

“With Keven, we’re strengthening our squad and expanding our options on the defensive by being more variable. Keven knows what’s coming for him and us and is ready to support us in the fight to stay up,” commented sporting director Patrick Fabian the transfer.

However, there is no mention of a purchase option. The 25-year-old will return to the sports club at the end of the season.
