NHL star Leon Draisaitl suffered a heavy defeat with the Edmonton Oilers at the start of the season. The Cologne ice hockey professional and his team lost 7-1 to the Vancouver Canucks. Draisaitl’s first goal of the season to make it 1:4 couldn’t change the one-sided game much.
Previously, Tim Stützle and the Ottawa Senators lost 3:5 to the Carolina Hurricanes in the first game of the season. The national player made it 3-3 in the final third, but in the end the host fans celebrated.
Lukas Reichel and his teammates also left the ice as losers. The attacker lost 1:3 to the Boston Bruins with the Chicago Blackhawks.
