MT Melsungen goes into the top game of the handball Bundesliga at Primus Füchse Berlin as second in the table. Melsungen defeated HC Erlangen with 32:25 (17:13).

Thanks to their success, the Hessians jumped to second place in the table with 16:2 points and are the first pursuers of the still unbeaten Füchse. Erlangen is 15th. The best throwers in the Rothenbachhalle in Kassel were Timo Kastening and Erlangen’s Simon Jeppsson with nine hits each.

Melsungen got off to a good start and quickly moved forward. By half time the home team extended their lead to four goals. After the restart, a small phase of weakness for the MT ensured that the guests got back into the game and came within one goal. However, Melsungen was able to prevent the equalizer and, thanks to the quality of play and an increasingly strong defense, made the preliminary decision early on.
