RB Leipzig will have to do without national player Marcel Halstenberg in the Champions League at Celtic Glasgow. The defender was absent from the final training session at the Scottish champions’ stadium and is out at short notice.
“Halste has problems in the rib area with the muscles. It’s a slight strain, it didn’t make any sense,” said coach Marco Rose before the game on Tuesday (9 p.m. / DAZN). According to dpa information, the 31-year-old will no longer be missing.
After the 3-1 win in the first leg a week ago, Leipzig will otherwise be at their best at Celtic Park. André Silva, Kevin Kampl and Josko Gvardiol, who are on break in the Bundesliga in Mainz, will probably rotate back into the starting XI.
