FC Bayern Munich ended its losing streak in the Basketball Euroleague in the German duel with Alba Berlin.
The ambitious Munich team won 82:65 (43:30) after losing four games in the capital. With a record of 9:13 wins, Bayern at least have an eye on the playoff places. Alba is in the bottom of the table with just four successes.
After a balanced start (19:19/10th minute), the guests quickly pulled away with a furious 18:2 run in front of 10,229 spectators. Center Danko Brankovic in particular couldn’t get Alba under control at all. The 2.17 meter tall Croatian had 14 points and seven rebounds after 20 minutes. Coach Pablo Laso’s team went into the break with a 13-point lead.
Alba came out of the locker room better and reduced the score to 47:52 (26th). However, Bayern were not impressed by Berlin’s good phase and were back in the lead by 15 points at the end of the third quarter. In the final section, the Laso team was able to extend their lead. The best shooters at FC Bayern were Brankovic and Sylvain Francisco with 14 points each. Matteo Spagnolo was the most successful for Berlin with 15 points.
