The stuttering start of the top favorites in the 2nd Bundesliga gave the underdogs a chance to get promoted.
Hamburger SV missed their second win and the jump to the top of the table with a 2-2 win at Karlsruher SC in the last minute. “It’s just bitter and unbelievable that we give it away at the last second,” said Hamburg’s goalscorer Robert Glatzel.
17-year-old saves Nuremberg draw
The new table leader is FC Hansa Rostock (6 points) after the 2-1 win over newcomer SV Elversberg in the 13th minute of added time in front of the tied team from Holstein Kiel (2-1 against SpVgg Greuther Fürth).

HSV coach dissatisfied after the draw

“We saw a fantastic game and can be satisfied with the equalizer. Overall, we’ve come a little closer in terms of quality,” said KSC coach Christian Eichner. Coach Thomas Reis saw it in a similar way: “Last week we learned the hard way, today we were able to defend it to some extent. But we still have some catching up to do,” said the Schalke coach.
Hertha in the table cellar
For the Berliners, however, the top group of the league is currently not an issue. “It’s not about promotion first.
