So there’s this super tragic event that went down in San Diego. Basically, this jet was on its way to Montgomery-Gibbs Executive Airport, but things took a turn for the worse when it crashed into a neighborhood early Thursday morning. The Federal Aviation Administration mentioned that there were six people on board the Cessna 550 when it went down around 3:45 a.m. Sadly, three people lost their lives in the crash, but the authorities haven’t released any names yet. However, a spokesperson from Sound Talent Group, a music agency based in San Diego, confirmed that the company lost three of its employees in the accident.
One of the employees who tragically passed away was Dave Shapiro, who happened to be the co-founder of the company. Dave was quite the character – he was not only a music agent but also an airplane and helicopter pilot, a husband, a puppy dad, and a retired BASE jumper. Talk about living life to the fullest, right? He co-founded Sound Talent Group back in 2018 and even started Velocity Aviation, a company that offers scenic flight tours in San Diego and Homer, Alaska. The guy was truly a jack-of-all-trades when it came to aviation. From BASE jumping to aerobatic flying, he did it all. He even got his airline transport pilot license in 2020, like, how cool is that?
Flying wasn’t just a job for Dave; it was a big part of his personal life too. I mean, the guy even flew over Denali National Park in Alaska to get to his wedding ceremony. How epic is that? And get this, his wife wore a gold sequined dress while he rocked an Iron Maiden t-shirt. Talk about a power couple, am I right? The music industry is feeling the loss of Dave, with people posting their heartfelt condolences on social media. Carson Slovak, a musician, described Dave as an inspiration and a truly good person. Bill D’Arcangelo, an artist manager, also shared his thoughts on how Dave was a pillar of the music industry that can never be replaced. It’s clear that Dave made a huge impact on everyone he met, and his presence will be sorely missed.
Man, what a tragic event. Rest in peace, Dave, and all those who lost their lives in the crash.
