So, like, there’s this new LAX Metro Station opening in June, which is like, a big deal for all the people trying to get to the airport without dealing with all that traffic, ya know? The LAX/Metro Transit Center is finally opening on June 6, and Janice Hahn, the Metro Board Chair, made the announcement on Thursday. This station, located at Aviation Boulevard and 96th Street, will connect to the K Line and C Line, and eventually to the LAX automated people mover train.

I mean, I’m not really sure why this matters, but apparently, having a direct connection to light rail is a big deal for major cities, and LA has been missing out on that action for a while. The whole debate about the airport connection was renewed in 2014, and now we’re finally getting this $900 million transit center with all the fancy stuff like a bus plaza, a bicycle hub, and a pickup and drop-off area.

Once the people mover train is up and running, it’s gonna be a game-changer for travelers trying to get to the airport from different parts of LA. I mean, you can take one train from Redondo Beach, Norwalk, Leimert Park, or Inglewood, but if you’re coming from Pasadena or Long Beach, you’ll need to switch trains. And if you’re heading towards Hollywood or Universal Studios, well, you’ll have to deal with three trains.

But hey, at least the airport train will be running 24/7 and every two minutes during peak hours, so that’s something to look forward to, right? The whole $30-billion airport overhaul is expected to make things easier for travelers and airport employees alike. So, yeah, this LAX Metro Station opening is a pretty big deal for everyone involved.
