To this day it is not clear who destroyed the pipes of the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipeline in September 2022. identify Denmark, Germany and Sweden; the authorities assume sabotage. Russia is suspected of being the mastermind. Moscow, on the other hand, has accused the UK and US of being behind the blasts. In the meantime, there has even been speculation that a pro-Ukrainian group might be involved.
Now there could be a new lead as to who caused the leaks that destroyed gas pipes near the island of Bornholm.
Four days before the September 26 pipeline explosions, a Russian special ship was sighted near the scene. The ship “SS-750” was photographed 26 times by a Danish patrol boat on September 22, the Danish Defense Command confirmed to the Danish newspaper “Information”.
The “SS-750” has an AS-26 Priz mini-submarine on board. “The ‘SS-750’ is a special ship that was designed specifically for underwater operations,” said Swedish researcher, Russia and intelligence expert Joakim von Braun of “Information”.
In mid-April, the newspaper reported that the Danish patrol boat P524 Nymfen took 112 photos of Russian ships four days before the explosions at the pipelines. The online news site “t-online” reported at the end of March, citing information from security circles and publicly available data, that Russian military ships were believed to have operated at the crime scenes a few days before the attacks on the pipelines – including the “SS-750”. .
Another expert, Oliver Alexander, told “Information” that the ship could theoretically have been there for other reasons. “But to be in this exact place at this point in time is special.”
For von Braun, the new findings confirm information already obtained. “It is very likely that these ships were involved in the sabotage operation,” said Joakim von Braun, referring to the Russian military ships sighted before the Nord Stream blasts.
As “Information” previously reported, around September 21 and 22, 2022, military units from other countries were also in the said area, including Danish, Swedish and German ships and surveillance aircraft from Sweden and Poland. In addition, US ships were also in the vicinity and a US surveillance helicopter was flown over the Baltic Sea.
