Media entrepreneur Rupert Murdoch, 92, wants to remarry after four divorces. Speaking to The New York Post, which Murdoch owns, the 92-year-old confirms he’s engaged to his new partner.

“I was very nervous,” admits Murdoch. “I was afraid of falling in love, but I knew this would be my last [love]. It better be. I’m happy.”

According to the article in New York, on Saint Patrick’s Day he proposed to his partner Ann Lesley Smith, 66. “We both look forward to spending the second half of our lives together.” The wedding is planned for late summer.

“It’s a gift from God for both of us. We met last September,” says Ann Lesley Smith, who was previously married to country musician Chester Smith. Like her now-fiancé, her late husband was “a businessman” so she speaks “Rupert’s language” and the two said they share the same beliefs.

Murdoch and Smith met just weeks after his divorce from Jerry Hall, 66. The media mogul and actress went public with their relationship in late 2015 and married in London in 2016. In July 2022, Hall filed for divorce, which was completed in August.

Hall was Murdoch’s fourth wife. The entrepreneur was married to Patricia Booker from 1956 to 1967, with whom he has a daughter. He has three more children from his second marriage to writer Anna Murdoch Mann. The 92-year-old also has two children with the entrepreneur Wendi Deng, to whom he was married between 1999 and 2013.
