Ghislaine Maxwell’s talent was in socializing and climbing the social ladder. She was friends with Prince Andrew and even visited the Royal regularly. And Maxwell once met Elon Musk at a party. In 2014, the two struck up a conversation at a party hosted by Vanity Fair magazine and were photographed together.

According to the New York Times, which cites a Vanity Fair employee, Maxwell asked Musk for a tip and asked “if there was a way to remove himself from the internet.” She then asked him to destroy the internet, but Musk refused.

Elon Musk commented on the joint photo of the two on Twitter in 2020. “She pushed her way into a photo with me at a ‘Vanity Fair’ Oscar party. Went there with Tallulah Riley. Don’t know Ghislaine at all. Why do you think this should be a bigger story?” he wrote on the short message service.

Riley, Musk’s second wife, also commented on the Maxwell case at the time. She denied allegations that she was specially recruited for Musk. “The other thing I’ve seen implied is that Maxwell got me to be some kind of child bride for Elon,” the actress wrote in a statement. “Again, I don’t know Maxwell. Elon and I met when I was twenty-two and he was in London on a business trip. It was a chance meeting that wasn’t orchestrated by anyone,” she said, but admitted that the two were once guests of Epstein. However, there was no friendship.

“I hope that every victim of Epstein finds justice and peace and that anyone who harms underage girls will be punished to the fullest extent of the law,” Riley said.
