On February 10th, global star Taylor Swift will perform at the Tokyo Dome in Japan at 6 p.m. local time. On February 11 at 3:30 p.m. local time, Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce will be on the field in Las Vegas focused on his third Superbowl victory.

Whether a person can take part in both major events? Hardly a mere mortal. But Taylor Swift can. At least that’s what the Japanese embassy in Washington D.C. promises.

She shared an official announcement on Friday evening on on the evening of the concert, could easily arrive in Las Vegas before the start of the Super Bowl.”

Swift’s big advantage in this case: It doesn’t rely on scheduled flights. The singer usually uses the Falcon 900LX or Falcon 7X private jet. Both would have to be able to cover the approximately 8,900 kilometers between Tokyo and Las Vegas without stopping. This was also confirmed by the former pilot and spokeswoman for the aviation company “Flight Aware”. “It’s definitely doable,” Kathleen Bangs told NBC News. “She could potentially do it in about ten hours.”

While fans share various calculations on social media, Swift’s many trips are also met with criticism. A survey by the digital agency Yard ranked the artist among the planet’s biggest environmental offenders, albeit in close company with other celebrities such as Jay-Z, Kim Kardashian and Travis Scott.

Another problem may be more difficult to solve: The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced on Thursday that all parking spaces for private aircraft for the Superbowl were full. The four airports around Las Vegas have a capacity of 475 parking spaces for private aircraft, “PBS” quotes the FAA as saying. For major events like the Super Bowl, most people are booked weeks in advance. If Swift’s team hasn’t already taken care of a spot, things could get tight.

So the lovers could narrowly miss an important event – not for the first time. Kelce will not be able to accompany his successful girlfriend at the Grammys on Sunday. He had to prepare for the Superbowl: “I wish I could go and support Taylor at the Grammys,” said Kelce on the “Pat McAfee Show” on Wednesday. He wants to “watch her win every single award she’s nominated for.” The Grammys are one of the most coveted music awards in the world.

Swift is nominated in six categories and could set another of her many records. The singer has already won the Grammy for Best Album three times, with “Fearless,” “1989” and “Folklore.” If she wins this year with “Midnights,” she would be on a par with icons like Frank Sinatra and Stevie Wonder, who have also won four times in the category.

With or without Taylor Swift: The Super Bowl, in which Kelce will play with his Kansas City Chiefs against the San Francisco 49ers on February 11th, is the sporting event of the year in the USA. Fans of the singer will not only have been looking forward to the game, but also to emotional scenes like those after other NFL games.

The document from the Japanese embassy is aimed not only at US fans, but also at Japanese fans: “We know that many people in Japan are looking forward to experiencing Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour,” it says. “That’s why we wanted to reassure everyone that this talented artist can wow Japanese audiences and still make it to Las Vegas to support the Chiefs as they take the Super Bowl field in red.”

Attentive Swifties will not have missed the fact that there are three references to albums in the announcement: Speak Now, Fearless and Red. A little humor shouldn’t hurt in diplomacy either.
