Actress Nastassja Kinski demands an apology for her nude scenes as a 15-year-old in the successful “Tatort” crime thriller “Maturity Certificate”. “I want to confront the people who were responsible for it,” she told television station RTL about the 1977 thriller. “And I want an apology – publicly.”
Two weeks ago it became known that the actress wanted to prevent the nude scenes from being broadcast further and had called in lawyers. The Norddeutscher Rundfunk (NDR), which produced the film under the direction of Wolfgang Petersen (1941-2022), said in response to a dpa request in Hamburg: “NDR responded on time almost two weeks ago and had a personal conversation with him program director. The film is currently blocked from all distribution channels. We are maintaining the offer to talk.”
Kinski can be seen bare-chested by a lake at the beginning of the film. In the often repeated Kiel cult crime thriller, she played the 17-year-old student Sina, who is having an affair with her married teacher (played by Christian Quadflieg, who died in 2023). In fact, she was only 15 during filming. She didn’t feel comfortable with such scenes, “even though I liked the director and the whole team.” Kinski said she was on set without parental accompaniment. “My mother wasn’t invited, it was on purpose by the production – that’s the only way I can understand it.” It was her job as an actress. “But then I went to the hotel and then I cried.”
The actress said her mother, who was going through a divorce in the 1970s, was in financial distress. As a daughter, she contributed to her living expenses with her salary. “That’s how I helped us, my mother and I. I’ll never forget that, it’s like yesterday. We were in a really bad situation, and when the offers came, it was lucky for me and my mom.” With a view to “certificate of maturity” she asks herself the question: “Why didn’t they shoot it differently? The same effect, the same story, teacher, student, the drama, with the boy, but shot differently so that you don’t see everything.”
