The US actor Stuart Margolin (1940-2022) has died at the age of 82. Family members confirmed this on Instagram and the industry magazine “The Hollywood Reporter”. Margolin has been in front of the camera since the 1960s and has also worked as a director and screenwriter.
His stepson, actor Max Martini (53), shared on Instagram that Margolin had died. The most profound moments in his life were the birth of his children – and that he was at his stepfather’s bedside when he died. His mother, brother and he would have held Margolin’s hand. The deceased was “a great actor, writer, producer and director” but above all he was always there “with love and support for his family”.
Director Christopher Martini, also a stepson of Margolin, also told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor died of natural causes in the city of Staunton, Virginia.
One of his best-known engagements is “Detective Rockford – Just give us a call”. In the crime series, Margolin played the character Evelyn “Angel” Martin. He was awarded two Emmys for his game. He also had roles in “Smoking Colts”, “Magnum” or in “A Colt for All Cases”.
