After an appearance by Jerry Seinfeld (69), sitcom fans are hoping that there will be a comeback of “Seinfeld”. He hinted that the cult sitcom, which originally aired on US network NBC between 1989 and 1998, could return in some form. Julia Louis-Dreyfus (62), who played one of the most important roles alongside the actor and comedian at the time, doesn’t yet know what Seinfeld is talking about.
“Yes, I only saw [the message] last night,” says the Elaine actress in an interview with the British “Guardian”. She adds: “And I don’t know what the hell he’s talking about.” Jason Alexander (64) and Michael Richards (74), who played George and Kramer, have not yet commented.
During a recent appearance in Boston, the comedian discussed the sitcom’s finale, which, according to media reports, was watched by 76 million people in the United States at the time. Seinfeld said he had “a little secret,” as reported by NBC, among others.
“Something will happen that has to do with the end of the sitcom,” said the star, who also co-created the series. Together with Larry David (76), the second brain behind the show, he “thought about what you’re thinking about right now. You’ll see.” Seinfeld’s hints not only sparked spontaneous applause, but also led to speculation.
It is not yet known what exactly Seinfeld is talking about. “It’s possible,” the comedian had already revealed to presenter Ellen DeGeneres (65) in 2018 when she asked him on her show whether a return was conceivable.
