An appearance as we know it from the British royals: At the Royal Variety Performance in London, Prince William and Princess Kate gave no indication that the tell-all book “Endgame” could have once again caused worries in the royal family. Photos from the event, which annually raises funds for the Royal Variety Charity, show both smiling as they arrived on the red carpet.

According to consistent media reports, the royals ignored questions about the new book by royal expert Omid Scobie, who is considered a confidant of William’s brother Prince Harry and his wife, Duchess Meghan. “Endgame: Inside the Royal Family and the Monarchy’s Fight for Survival” is, among other things, about an alleged power struggle between King Charles III. and his son William as well as the supposedly cold relationship between Kate and Meghan.

Sales of the book were recently halted in the Netherlands after it was revealed that the translated version contained which member of the royals allegedly expressed concerns about the skin color of Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan’s son Archie before his birth. Meghan and Harry made relevant allegations publicly in an interview with Oprah Winfrey in 2021, without mentioning the name of the family member.

Prince William and Princess Kate also invited Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden and her husband, Prince Daniel, to the event. The program includes performances by British singer Rick Astley, music icon Cher and Swedish singer Zara Larsson.

Kate and William had previously welcomed the Swedish royals to Windsor Castle. In a picture of the future royal couples together, it was said on Instagram, among other things, that it was a pleasure to welcome Victoria and Daniel. The two have been on an official visit to Great Britain since November 29th. Appointments scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, include Cranfield University and the Church of Sweden in London.
