Thriller fans around the world are looking forward to this series: Netflix has officially ordered the six-part series “Zero Day” with cinema legend Robert De Niro (79) in the leading role. The Oscar winner should also take over the production, reports “Variety”.

Netflix Producer Eric Newman: “I’ve been a lifelong fan of Robert De Niro. To have him co-produce and star in this series is beyond my wildest dreams.”

According to the official description, “Zero Day” is about the question “how do we find the truth in a world full of crises, in which one seems to be torn apart by forces beyond our control”. Six episodes of one hour each are planned, but it is still unclear when the series will start. A few months ago, Variety reported Robert De Niro would play a US president in the thriller, but details have not yet been released.

Incidentally, it is the first regular TV role for the 79-year-old. Also present is Lesli Linka Glatter (69), who will direct all six episodes.
