Prince William (40) and Princess Kate (41) are celebrating their wedding anniversary this Saturday (April 29). It’s been twelve years since the couple tied the knot in front of millions of viewers at Westminster Abbey in 2011. For the twelfth anniversary of the fairytale wedding, the Prince and Princess of Wales have now shared a new photo from their private album on Instagram.

The photo shows the parents of three children on a bike ride, both dressed casually in blue jeans, with their arms around each other and beaming at the camera. William wears a dark blue, slightly unbuttoned shirt and dark sunglasses; Kate is wearing a casual white blouse, sunglasses pushed into her hair and has a brown shoulder bag thrown over her shoulder. It is not known when and where the sporting photo was taken.

Prince William and Princess Kate, then Kate Middleton, met around 2001 at the University of St Andrews in Scotland. After a few brief separations, William proposed to Kate on a trip to Kenya in 2010, and the big wedding followed on April 29, 2011.

The couple’s first son, Prince George (9), was born in July 2013. In May 2015 they became parents to a daughter, Princess Charlotte (7) and in April 2018 another son, Prince Louis (5).

At their wedding in 2011, the couple received the titles “Duke and Duchess of Cambridge” from Queen Elizabeth II (1926-2022), with the death of the monarch they took over “Prince and Princess of Wales” from King Charles III. (74).
